24. juni er det 125 år siden Birger Meinhardt ble født. Han kom til Falstad i mai 1944 og satt til frigjøringen. En periode var han hovedcapo i leiren (fangenes tillitsmann). Blant fangene var han kjent som "Bustenskjold", med referanse til hans likhetstrekk med tegneseriefiguren.
Thorleif Sellæg made drawings of his fellow prisoners at Falstad, among them a caricature of lawyer Birger Meinhardt (1885–1958) from Trondheim. Another prisoner used the drawing when carving and painting this paper knife.
June 24th it is 125 years since Birger Meinhardt was born. He arrived at Falstad in May 1944 and sat until Liberation. For a period he worked as chief kapo in the camp. Among the prisoners he was known as "Bustenskjold", due to his resemblance with the popular Norwegian comic character.
